Senior Acoustical Consultant

As a Senior Acoustical Consultant at Acoustics By Design, you’ll provide project management and consult on a diverse range of high-profile projects, designing and engineering acoustical solutions for optimizing acoustical performance and controlling, isolating, and mitigating structure-borne, HVAC, equipment-generated, and environmental noise and vibration. • Bachelors or Post-Graduate Degree in Architectural Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related science and engineering field.
• Minimum of five years experience in acoustical consulting, acoustical engineering, or related occupation.
• Solid understanding of acoustic principles and real-world application of building and environmental acoustics.
• Ability to read and review architectural, mechanical, and structural design and engineering plans and consult on space design, material selection, and mechanical systems.
• Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to think creatively and provide constructible, affordable, and aesthetically pleasing solutions.
• Expertise with sound and vibration test equipment and the ability to measure and analyze the impact of noise and vibration from interior and exterior sources on interior environments.
• Ability to measure and analyze noise and vibration generated by facilities to ensure acoustical compliance with noise ordinances, building codes, standards, and NSI guidelines.
• Proficiency in CAD and AutoCAD systems and with acoustical modeling and analytics software including TRANE Acoustics Program (TAP), CATT, SoundPlan, EASE, CADNA, or equivalent programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to participate on our presentation team to make capabilities presentations, lead "Learn @ Lunch" seminars, and present proposals to prospects, clients, and in public forums.
