How will you deal with the new noise, privacy, and acoustical requirements for healthcare facilities?
![]() | Come and join us at SoundHealthcare2010, and find out what you must know about the new FGI Guidelines for HIPAA Compliance and LEED HC |
The FGI Guidelines for the Design and Construction of Healthcare Facilities is widely considered the "bible of healthcare design." Every four years a new edition of the Guidelines is released, mandating sweeping reforms in the healthcare industry. This information affects everyone from architects and interior designers to healthcare lawyers and facility managers.
There Is No Registration Fee but You Must Register in Advance »
In mid-January, the 2010 edition of the FGI Guidelines was released and adopted as code by many states, agencies, and AHJs. The former 2006 edition made waves by mandating single patient rooms. The new 2010 edition addresses comprehensive acoustical criteria for the first time in the Guidelines’ 60-year history (i.e., noise, privacy, and acoustics). The new acoustical criteria have already been adopted and piloted by the Green Guide for Health Care and accepted by LEED for Health Care as the Reference Standard for two new EQ acoustical credits.
Participants will receive certificate of completion with necessary reporting data. This event qualifies for 1.5 HSW (Health, Safety, Welfare) LU (Learning Units) toward structured, self-report AIA CES.
Topics Covered:
- Background & authority of the new 2010 FGI Guidelines
- Comprehensive, detailed overview of the new acoustical criteria
- Case studies showing design strategies, available products & solutions
